Unilever Foodsolutions has launched the exciting ‘Salad Obsessions’ promotion, with its popular HELLMANN’S brand, to help operators maximise their salad offering and its profit potential.

Caroline Fisher, brand manager at Unilever Foodsolutions, said: “The salad market is growing and research shows that the health conscious consumers’ desire for choice and a fresh and natural appeal mean salads are moving front of house. This presents a fantastic opportunity for operators to grow their front-of-house salad offering and capitalise on this trend – but it has to be done properly. Thought and careful planning are required for a successful salad bar. Customers faced with an unstructured mess of uninspiring ingredients will more than likely walk away in search of an easier and quicker option.”

The ‘Salad Obsessions’ promotion offers operators two kits containing the tools to create an eye-catching, well-thought-out and easy-to-use salad bar, that will enable their customers to create an array of delicious salads. The kits are equally useful for operators serving pre-prepared salads. Each kit is available with just one order of HELLMANN’S Dressings.

The first kit contains merchandise for the front-of-house salad bar. This includes a large and small banner to draw attention to the salad bar and an A4 ‘Salad of the Day’ flip chart. This handy tool contains 14 mouth-watering salad suggestions with easy-to-follow instructions that show consumers the exact ingredients and HELLMANN’S dressing to combine to replicate each one.

The second kit contains two posters and a back-of-house manual that is crammed with useful information and advice and is an absolute must for all operators committed to making their salad offering work – be it a front-of-house salad bar or pre-prepared range. The ‘Salad Obsessions’ manual features interesting insight on salad trends; ingredient suggestions and layout diagrams for planning salad bars of all sizes; hints and tips for maintaining interest throughout the year, such as seasonal suggestions and presentation; POS ideas; Health and Safety information and Sales & Profitability advice.
