7 STEPS TO THE PERFECT CUP OF TEA:

  • The Brand: By showing that you are serving the nation’s favourite tea* you are giving reassurance about the quality of your total offering.

  • The Range: Fruit & Herbal and Green teas are becoming more popular – by offering these ranges you are giving your customers a choice. You also have a great opportunity to charge a premium.
  • The Water: For tea the water has to be HOT just off the boil – (hotter than for coffee).

  • The Brew: Everyone likes their tea a particular strength, ask your customer how they prefer it or ideally give them the hot water and teabag separately.
  • The Milk: For tea you need fresh semi-skimmed milk, UHT milk is one of the main reasons consumers reject tea OOH. If you must offer alternatives make sure they are low fat.
  • The Serve: Serve your tea according to the occasion – china cups and teapots for best, china mugs for everyday and PG2GO cups for takeaway. Nothing else will do!

  • No Mess: Used teabags can be messy to get rid of. Save your customers the embarrassment and give them somewhere to put the teabag.
