Awadhi Murg Chicken Korma

Preparation

Prepare the ingredients as per ingredient list.
Method
1. Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed pan to smoke point and crackle the cardamom pods and bay leaf. Add the onions and cook without colouring until the onions are soft. (Use some water to prevent it from sticking to the pan.
2. Make up the bouillon as per manufacturers instructions.
3. Add the ginger, garlic and Korma paste, cook for 3-4 minutes, remove from the heat, add the yoghurt, keep stirring back over the heat for 1 minute. Add the tomatoes, cook for 2-3 minutes, remove from the heat and blend to a pulpy texture with a hand Blitzer.
4. Add the diced chicken, cook on a simmer for 15 minutes or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and tender and the desired flavour and consistency of the sauce is achieved.
5. Add the coconut milk, cardamom powder and ground almonds, cook for 1 minute. Serve with fresh chopped coriander.
Service Hint
Serve with KNORR Long Grain Rice and Pataks Pappadums, Chutneys and Naan Breads.
Handy Hint
The strength of the sauce can be adjusted by adding or decreasing the spice blend paste by 50g. The recipe can be converted into a sauce only by removing the protein at method 4. The recipes can be adjusted by using other pastes from the KNORR Pataks Spice Blend Paste range.
Healthy Nutritional Advice
Added salt is not recommended but if used keep to a minimum . If using oil use unsaturated (olive or sunflower) and reduce the quantity used where possible. This helps to provide a nutritional balanced dish.
