The National Activity Providers Association (NAPA)
NAPA has a huge library of online content to enable care homes to engage with every resident, offering activities to help bring them together as well as supporting those who may be feeling lonely and isolated.
- Things to Do Issue 4 – 2020 includes a variety of activities such as games quizzes, word scrabbles (answers included at the back of the magazine), arts and crafts ideas as well as seasonal reading. Click here to download
- Their ‘My Life Now and Then’ pack provides residents with forms to reflect on lifestyle changes, helping them to identify things they enjoy doing or want to be doing (e.g. baking). Whilst engaging residents, this could also give care home workers more of an insight into the individual they are caring for, as well as give residents a nice reflective activity to do and to share amongst other residents. - The NAPA Short Story Writing Competition invites all residents to use their imagination and memories to write a 500-word short story, either individually or as part of a group. All stories will be published to the members only section of the NAPA website with the winner receiving a NAPA goodie bag. Find out more here
Our Yesterday, a leading provider of activities in the sector, is offering all care homes 3 months free access to its online resources during the crisis; providing reminiscence activities, interactive content and themed menu support to help support the physical and mental wellbeing of your residents.
