Canadian Date Cake 5-11 Years (Flora Buttery)

| 110 | g | Self raising flour |
| 80 | g | FLORA Buttery Spread 2kg |

| 55 | ml | Water |
Preparation
Advance Preparation
Pre-heat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF) Gas Mark 4. Grease and flour a baking tray. Sieve the flour and cocoa powder, cover and set asisde.
Method
1. Cream together the margarine and the sugar until light and fluffy, add the treacle, mix well . Whisk in the eggs a little at a time to ensure
the mix is light and fluffy.
2. Fold in the dates, flour, cocoa powder, and water, do not over mix.
3. Pour into a greased and parchment lined tray.
4. Bake in the pre heated oven for 20-25 minutes.
5. Cool, cut into slices and serve.

Can be served as a sweet snack or pudding Serve with either Custard: Primary 90g secondary 120g or Low fat yogurt: Primary up to 125g, secondary 125-150g
Handy Hint
STORK Original can be used as an alternative spread.
To test if the cake is cooked, pierce with a skewer or slim knife which should be clean and clear of uncooked mix when removed.

At least five portions of fruit or vegetable should be eaten each day. To help achieve this serve the dessert with a small size fruit e.g. Satsuma, nectarines, plums, apricots and kiwis
