AI Chatbot Terms

Please read these terms of use (“Terms”) carefully before engaging with the AI Chatbot. These Terms are intended to inform users of the limitations and usage guidelines of the UFS Chatbot on [insert URL] (“AI Chatbot”) provided by Unilever UKI (“us”, “we”) on our website.  The user (“you”, “your”) is defined as the person using the AI Chatbot.  These Terms apply in addition to the UFS general website terms and conditions [Legal terms] and in the event of a conflict, these terms shall apply to the extent of such conflict.

By accessing & interacting with the AI Chatbot, you are agreeing to enter into these Terms with us regarding your use of the AI Chatbot and the information you share with it. If you do not agree with these Terms, please refrain from using the AI Chatbot.

General Information

The AI Chatbot is an automated system powered by Azure Open AI GPT- 3.5 and GPT- 4and fine-tuned on Unilever information. It is designed to [give you personalized advice and recommendations related to our products and services].  The information provided by the AI Chatbot is for general guidance purposes only and is not intended to be comprehensive, nor to constitute legal, financial, or professional advice.

Age Requirements

The use of the AI Chatbot is intended for persons over 18 years of age. If you are under 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority where you live), you may use the AI Chatbot only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms and agrees to be fully responsible for the acts or omissions of the minor in relation to the use of the AI Chatbot. 

Content

You may provide input to the AI Chatbot (“Input”) and receive output from the AI Chatbot based on the Input (“Output”). Input and Output are collectively “Content”. You are responsible for Content, including ensuring that it does not violate any applicable law or these Terms. You represent and warrant that you have all rights, licences, and permissions needed to provide Input to the AI Chatbot. As between you and UFS, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, you (a) retain your ownership rights in Input and (b) own the Output (excluding any other users’ output).  We can use your Content worldwide to provide, maintain, develop, and improve our services, comply with applicable law, enforce our terms and policies and maintain the safety of our services.

 

Usage Rights

You agree to use the AI Chatbot for its intended purposes, namely to receive personalized advice and recommendations regarding our products and services and not to use the AI Chatbot for any illegal, harmful, or abusive activity, such as: (1) to send or share abusive, defamatory, offensive, intimidating, illegal, racist, discriminatory, obscene, harmful or inappropriate content in any form; (2) to conduct illegal or immoral activities; (3) to try to compromise the security of the AI Chatbot or our website, access our confidential information or otherwise interfere with our services; (4) to copy, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the AI Chatbot or any part of it; (5) use in a way that infringes, misappropriates or violates anyone’s rights; (6) to automatically or programmatically extracting data or output from the AI Chatbot based on your Inputs; or (7) representing that Output was human-generated when it was not.

Accuracy

The field of Generative Artificial Intelligence is rapidly evolving. Given the probabilistic nature of the technology used, use of our AI Chatbot may in some situations result in Output that does not accurately reflect real people, places, or facts. When you use our AI Chatbot you understand and agree: (1) Output may not always be accurate and so you should not rely on Output from the AI Chatbot as a sole source of truth or factually accurate, or as a substitute for professional advice; (2) you must evaluate Output for accuracy and appropriateness for your use case, including using human review as appropriate, before using or sharing Output from the AI Chatbot; (3) you must not use any Output relating to a person for any purpose that could have a legal or material impact on that person, such as making credit, educational, employment, housing, insurance, legal, medical, or other important decisions about them; and (4) Our AI Chatbot may provide incomplete, incorrect, or offensive Output that does not represent UFS’s views. If Output references any third party products or services, it doesn’t mean the third party endorses or is affiliated with UFS.

Third Parties

The AI Chatbot is powered by powered by Azure Open AI GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.  By using the AI Chatbot you also agree to be bound by the Acceptable Use Policy in Microsoft’s Product Terms, available here and the Acceptable Use Policy in Livechat INC, available here. The AI Chatbot may provide links to other websites operated by third parties. Those links are provided for your convenience only, and we are not responsible for their use, effect, or content.

Availability

This AI Chatbot is provided on an “as is” “where is” basis. We expressly reserve the right to modify, add or delete individual or all AI Chatbot functionalities without notice, or to discontinue the AI Chatbot temporarily or permanently and we provide no guarantee for the uninterrupted accessibility of the AI Chatbot.

Data Privacy

When interacting with the AI Chatbot, please do not share your personal data. In the event that personal data is shared by you, by using our AI Chatbot, you acknowledge you have read our Privacy Policy [Privacy Notice | Unilever Legal] and you agree we may collect, store and share your personal data with third party service providers for the purposes of providing the AI Chatbot services.

While we strive to provide accurate information through the AI Chatbot, we cannot guarantee the accuracy and/or the completeness of the information provided. The AI Chatbot may, at times, provide information that is inaccurate, so we encourage you to verify any information provided by the AI Chatbot before taking any action or making any decisions based on the information received. We make no representations, warranties, or guarantees in relation to the availability, suitability continuity, reliability, accuracy, currency or security of this AI Chatbot or the information it provides.   We, our officers, directors, employees, affiliated companies, and representatives do not accept any liability regarding the information provided and cannot be held liable for any actions, losses, or damages (whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise) resulting from your use of the AI Chatbot. 

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

All disputes relating to these terms are governed by the laws of the UK and Ireland regardless of conflict of law rules and consent to the jurisdiction of the UK and Ireland.
