For the fritters:

  • Bananas-peeled 375.0 g
  • Egg 200.0 g
  • Plain flour 100.0 g
  • Panko Breadcrumbs 100.0 g

For the syrup:

This  Malaysian inspired snack sized dish are sweet banana pieces coated in Panko crumbs, deep fried and tossed in a cinnamon and ginger syrup.



  1. For the fritters:

    • Cut the peeled bananas into 10g pieces
    • Beat the eggs.
    • Coat the banana pieces firstly in flour then dip in the beaten egg and final coat all over in the panko breadcrumbs.
  2. For the syrup:

    • In a pan bring the caster sugar, water, ground cinnamon and KNORR Professional Ginger puree to the boil and reduce until a syrupy texture has been achieved.
    • Keep hot until required.
  3. To serve:

    • Deep fry the bananas in a preheat fryer at 180c for 3-4 minute or until golden brown.
    • Remove the banana pieces from the fryer and drain the excess oil.
    • Toss the banana in the cinnamon and ginger syrup to serve.
